A two-vehicle wreck in South Lumpkin County Sunday evening sent 6 people to the hospital, two of which were children.
At approximately 9:38 p.m. Sunday, the Georgia State Patrol was called to a collision incident that occurred on Long Branch Road near Robinson Ridge. The driver of a 2013 Nissan Rogue was traveling south while attempting to negotiate a curve to the right. They crossed the center line and struck a 1997 Lincoln Town Car head-on, according to reports from the GSP.
The driver of the Nissan, Ashutosh Shashi, 45, of Duluth, was driving with four other people in the car. Balmuklund Jangir, 47, Neha Shashi, 40, as well as a 12-year-old girl and an eight-year-old boy, were all taken to the hospital. The two children were transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
The driver of the Lincoln Town Car, Christina Pearson, 26, of Cleveland, was transported to the hospital as well.
All of those involved in the accident were said to have serious injuries.
Charges in the incident are currently pending, according to GSP officials.
