A wanted Flowery Branch man turned himself in Thursday morning following a domestic violence dispute that reportedly occurred late last week.

On the evening of May 26, deputies with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a domestic dispute in the 6000 block of Portsmouth Drive. The call indicated a physical altercation had taken place.

Chad Spencer English, 35, allegedly assaulted a female victim, 42, and then fled the residence on foot, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Derreck Booth. During the altercation, English is said to have grabbed the victim’s throat with one hand, while covering her mouth with his other hand. He also reportedly punched the woman in her face, leaving her with a bloody lip.

Following the incident, a HCSO K9 team responded and unsuccessfully attempted to locate English. Deputies then obtained arrest warrants for English on counts of alleged aggravated assault, a felony, and battery, a misdemeanor. Both are charged under the Family Violence Act, according to officials.

English turned himself in at the Hall County Jail Thursday morning, approximately six days after the issuance of a warrant. He is currently being held without bond for the alleged charges, as well as for felony probation violation.
