Six courtrooms in Hall County will soon receive upgrades to their audio-visual systems after receiving additional funding from the American Rescue Plan Act.
The Northeast Judicial Circuit, which covers Hall County, had already received just under $2 million in the first cycle of the 2023 awards, but also requested an additional $512 thousand for the second cycle. That request was granted by the ARPA grant program this week.
The additional funds bring the circuit's total for the year up to $2.5 million. Circuit officials said the funds will be used to upgrade the audio-visual systems in the courtrooms of Hall County Magistrate Court, Hall County Juvenile Court, and Hall County Probate Court among others.
Overall, the program contributed more than $15 million to 24 judicial circuits across Georgia, including $1.2 million to the Mountain Judicial Circuit.
