Two people were seriously injured after a two-vehicle wreck Tuesday morning on Georgia 365 in Habersham County.

The Georgia State Patrol said the accident happened just after 6:15 a.m. near Alto Mud Creek Road.

Austin Nathaniel Collins, 26, of Toccoa, was reportedly driving a Toyota Tocoma and improperly stopped in the right lane of Georgia 365. Chad Black, 57, of Gainesville, was driving north on the roadway in a GMC Yukon when he struck the back of the Toyota. Black told authorities he did not see the Toyota until the impact.

The Toyota traveled off the right side of the roadway after the impact, striking a guardrail. It also overturned and struck a tree on its driver's side.

Collins and his passenger, Ashley Nicole Collins, 38, of Toccoa, both suffered suspected serious injuries. An infant was also inside the Toyota at the time of the wreck, but the child was uninjured.

Black suffered a possible minor injury.

Charges are pending against Austin Collins in the accident.
