SAVANNAH, Ga. — The sixth-ranked Lakeview boys soccer team fell to third-ranked St. Andrew's School, 3-0, in the GIAA 3A quarterfinals on Saturday.
Despite outshooting St. Andrew's 17-10, the Lions trailed 1-0 at the half.
Freshman forward Frisco Johnson shot a ball into the back of the net in the second half, attempting to tie the game, but the play was ruled offside.
The Lions had several chances to score throughout the contest but could not find the net.
In the second half, a shot by Lakeview hit the crossbar on a volley by Akhil Mangalat, and Frisco Johnson hit the side post on a shot from the middle, but no one found the inside of the goal. The Lions conceded a second goal with less than five minutes left.
Lakeview finished the season with an overall record of 11-5-1, 8-0 in region play.
