A negative is turned into a positive through the results of a Georgia MCCD concentrated patrol on Thursday and Friday in Habersham County.
A release from the Habersham County Public Safety Department says due to last week’s double-fatality wreck caused by a commercial vehicle driver on Highway 365, Georgia Department of Public Safety Motor Carrier Compliance Division initiated a controlled saturation enforcement detail last Thursday and Friday.
Sheriff Joey Terrell reports the concentrated patrol in Habersham County resulted in two DUIs for marijuana, five counts of possession of a controlled substance, one possession of marijuana, six drivers and four vehicles being placed out of service.
The release adds that MCCD officers found 117 total driver and vehicle violations with a total of 26 citations written over the two day period.
