Five people were displaced by a fire at a home in Oakwood Thursday.
Hall County Fire Rescue officials said in a release that crews were called to the scene on McClure Drive just before noon and found heavy smoke and fire coming from one side of the duplex. The fire also spread into the attic of the second unit.
Officials said the fire was put out quickly, but the building was heavily damaged and five residents, two adults and three children, were displaced. The American Red Cross is assisting.
No injuries were reported and the Hall County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
