UPDATE:
Atlanta Police report they have arrested the suspect, Deion Patterson, 24, Wednesday evening following an all-day search for the man after a shooting in Midtown Atlanta.
Patterson has been accused of shooting five women in a Northside Hospital medical building in Midtown Atlanta. One of the women, 39, died at the scene. The other four, ages 71, 56, 39 and 25 were all taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, according to reports from the AJC.
As of 4:42 p.m. Wednesday:
Another victim has been confirmed, bringing the total to 4 women injured and 1 woman killed in the shooting in Midtown Atlanta.
The search for suspect Deion Patterson, 24, has now spread into Cobb County, as officers search Vinings, Cumberland and the Truist Park areas.
The victims' names have not been released yet, and it is still too early for officials to say why the victims were shot, the AJC reports.
As of 2:40 p.m. Wednesday:
Atlanta Police say a suspect is on the loose after a shooting in the 1100 block of Peachtree Street NW in Midtown Atlanta. One person is dead and at least three others are injured at last report.
Atlanta Police released photos of the suspect on its Twitter account and identified him as 26-year-old Deion Patterson.
A shelter-in-place order was issued for the midtown area in the aftermath of the shooting, but it was lifted by Atlanta police shortly after 3:00 p.m.
Anyone with information on Patterson's whereabouts are asked to call 911.
"The suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached," Atlanta Police said.
As of 1:30 p.m. Wednesday:
"There have been no additional shots fired since the initial incident unfolded. We are currently aware of 4 shooting victims related to this situation. Three have been transported to the hospital for treatment and a fourth has been pronounced deceased on the scene. Officers are actively searching for the suspect and any other victims," according to the Atlanta Police Department's Twitter.
As of 12:42 p.m. Wednesday:
"We are working an active shooter situation inside a building on West Peachtree St, between 12th St and 13th St. We are aware of multiple people injured. No suspect is in custody," according to the Atlanta Police Department's Twitter.
