Commerce and Towns County both advanced to the semifinals on Monday in the Georgia High School Association state playoffs.
No. 1 Commerce, the Region 8-A Division 1 champion rolled to an easy win in the quarterfinals routing Bleckley County 10-0 on the road. The Lady Tigers (20-1) will play host to Mt. Vernon on Thursday looking for a shot at their second consecutive state final.
In the Class A Division 2 playoffs, Towns County (7-5-1) also advanced to its second consecutive Final 4, holding off Hawkinsville 2-0 on the road as well. The Lady Indians will travel to fellow Area 3-A D2 foe Lake Oconee Academy on Thursday in the semifinals.
However, in Class 3A, No. 7 White County saw its season come to an end with a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to No. 4 St. Vincent's in Savannah. The Lady Warriors (14-6) were working on their best playoff run since 2018 and had been unbeaten on the road in the playoffs until Monday.
