City of Gainesville telecommunication systems restored after Tuesday outage

Telecommunications services at select City of Gainesville facilities were restored Wednesday morning after a Tuesday afternoon outage.

City officials said services were restored as of 2 a.m. Wednesday.

The city said Tuesday afternoon that it was experiencing outages at the Gainesville Public Safety Complex, Gainesville Fire Station 1 and the Department of Water Resources.

Gainesville City officials are working to resolve a network outage impacting telecommunications at Gainesville Fire and Police Departments and the Department of Water Resources, according to city officials.

"We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate the community's patience and understanding during this time," Gainesville City officials said in a release.

The network outage will affect people from getting copies of reports and records distributed by GPD and GFD Station No. 1 located off Pine Street in Gainesville.

The DWR will continue to accept utility payments electronically or by in-person cash or check payments. Web payments or bank payments paid through Bill Pay may be submitted here

According to officials, services are expected to be restored by the beginning of the workday Wednesday, April 19.
