Sawnee Electric Foundation program awards $5000 scholarships to 20 students

The Sawnee Electric Membership Foundation recently awarded 20 local high school seniors each with a $5,000 scholarship in support of education in the areas served by Sawnee EMC.  
 
In a press release, Vice President of Sawnee EMC’s Member Services, Blake House, said the Youth Scholarship program is a shining example of what the Foundation and Sawnee EMC are all about.  
 
The Sawnee Electric Membership Foundation scholarship recipients for 2023 are:
  • Suzette du Toit, Denmark High School 
  • Douglas Fratt, East Forsyth High School 
  • Alison LaFayette, Lambert High School
  • Harrison Lowe, East Forsyth High School
  • Eshan Momin, Alpharetta High School
  • Aadi Nag, South Forsyth High School
  • Jaiknishka Rajkumar, Alliance Academy for Innovation
  • Liam Reid, Denmark High School
  • Samantha Schoenfeld, Forsyth Central High School
  • Ramapriya Srinivas, Denmark High School
  • Gabriel St. George, St. George Academy
  • Prem Stanley, West Forsyth High School 
  • William Taylor, Cambridge High School 
  • Ashley Track, Alliance Academy for Innovation
  • Clayton Tucker, Sequoyah High School
  • John Tucker, Sequoyah High School
  • Joel Unger, North Forsyth High School
  • Matthew Warren, Creekview High School
  • Sara Watson, North Forsyth High School 
  • Grant Witczak, Lambert High School
To date, the Foundation has awarded $1,152,500 in scholarships to 272 high school seniors within Sawnee EMC’s seven-county service area.
 
“Supporting those in need in our communities, and helping these outstanding students continue their education is a key part of meeting the Foundation’s core mission,” Chairman of the Foundation’s Board, Evonda Mathis said in a press release.  “We look forward to seeing the exciting things this year’s recipients will accomplish after high school.”
