Soccer: LCA girls, Lakeview boys take wins

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — The Lanier Christian Academy girls used a balanced attack as five different players scored in taking a 6-1 win over Lakeview Academy on the road on Tuesday.

Eva Seidel opened the scoring, pouncing on a rebound in the box and slotting it home. Minutes later Aimee Babb converted a penalty kick for a 2-0 lead. The Lady Lightning continued their offensive show in the second half.

Ashyr Dingfelder added a pair of goals off dribbling runs, and Eva Johnson and Lauren Johnson each scored once late in the match.

Bailey Wright pitched her third straight shutout making four saves.

LCA next will travel to Fideles Christian School on Friday.

Senior Liam Weidner had three goals and an assist to lead the Lions to their first win of the season at home.

The Lions outshot LCA 28-7 for the game.

Senior Jay Dave' had two assists while Bryan Ramsey dished out one assist for Lakeview.

William Harrison recorded the win in goal for the Lions with seven saves.

Lakeview (1-4) next will jump into GIAA region play against Bethlehem Christian on the road on Friday.
