A woman from Duluth was charged after allegedly fleeing from a two-vehicle wreck Tuesday evening south of Flowery Branch that left a motorcyclist with suspect serious injuries.

The Georgia State Patrol said the wreck happened just after 8 p.m. on Atlanta Highway at the road's intersection with Gaines Ferry Road.

A crash report stated Zulma Vitale, 45, of Duluth, was driving a Dodge Durango southbound on Atlanta Highway while a 25-year-old Flowery Branch man was driving a Suzuki motorcycle northbound on the roadway.

Vitale allegedly failed to yield while turning left onto Gaines Ferry Road, striking the left side of the motorcycle. Vitale then fled from the scene after the collision. The Flowery Branch Police Department located Vitale at a home in the area.

The Flowery Branch man was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with suspected serious injuries after the wreck.

The Georgia State Patrol charged Vitale with duty to stop at an accident, failure to yield and failure to yield while turning left.
