The Georgia Department of Transportation and construction partner E.R. Snell will be starting nightly road closures on I-985 on February 15 in Hall County.
The following lanes will be closed from February 15 until February 17:
- I-985 Northbound Single Lane Closure 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
- I-985 Southbound Single Lane Closure 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
According to a press release from the GDOT, temporary barrier walls will be installed along the inside and outside shoulder of I-985 from milepost 17.5 to 18.
Work on the overpass bridge began December 2022. The construction includes a single-lane closure and traffic pacing.
The GDOT advises drivers to reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, to stay alert and to watch for workers. Congestion is to be expected and drivers are asked to consider alternative routes to avoid delays.
