BUFORD, Ga. — The Buford tennis teams opened their season with a pair of victories over Cherokee Bluff on Tuesday at Buford City Park.
The boys swept the Bears 5-0 without dropping a set. James Troutt, Brent Sherman, and Myles Carbis got wins in singles while the doubles teams of Owen Sampers and
Jack Hall (No. 1) and Jackson Maloney and Eshaan Patel (No. 2) also got wins.
The Lady Wolves took a 4-1 win over the Lady Bears. Taylor Aycock, Berkley Clark, and Hannah Davidson all got straight-set wins in singles while the No. 1 doubles team of Abigail Foretic and Delaney Richards also won in straight sets.
Cherokee Bluff's lone win came at No. 2 doubles. GB Cornett and Lawren Murrath won a wild three-set match that went 12-10 in the tiebreaker.
