A new assistant director for Habersham County's Public Works Department is coming soon.
Jared Beaudoin of Blairsville has been named the assistant public works director for Habersham County, effective December 18.
A release from the Habersham County Public Works Department says Beaudoin currently works as facilities supervisor for Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino in Murphy, N.C.
Prior to that, Beaudoin worked as facility maintenance director for the City of Sterling Heights, Mich., managing over 18 municipal facilities, and handled budget, contractor, and project management.
The release from Director Jerry Baggett's office adds that Beaudoin has 20-plus years of experience in municipal services, including serving in department of public works supervision (fleet, water, and sewer departments); operations manager (assistant DPW director); city purchasing manager; and city facilities maintenance director.
Beaudoin received a bachelor’s degree from Walsh College and a CDL-A license with air brake endorsement and a Michigan S-1 water distribution license.
Baggett says that Beaudoin will be responsible for assisting the public works director in overseeing all operations in the fleet department, road department, and the landfill/solid waste departments and recycling division.
