By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

A K9 tandem with the Banks County Sheriff's Office is gaining high praise on a national level.

Deputy Corporal Pressley and K9 Becka have completed 20 tracks for locating criminals and missing persons within the past 18 months, and have recently been ranked as third in the nation for Scent Evidence K9 partner finds.

A release from the Banks County Sheriff's Office shows that back in November of 2022, Corporal Pressley and K9 Becka receved the Scent Evidence K9 Master handler certificate for outstanding training search deployments.

Officials with Scene Evidence K9 have commended the tandem for their commitment to public safety through their excellent skills needed to be among the top performing tandems in the country.

Most recently, the Banks County tandem were involved in a search for five suspects who fled on foot from authorities in the city of Jefferson of Jackson County, and located four of the five, while the fifth suspect was apprehended separately.
