With the holiday season officially upon us, Boot Barn Hall in Gainesville is set to host an Ugly Sweater Contest Friday evening with a contest, music, food and more.
Doors open at 6 p.m., with a happy hour running from 6 to 7 p.m. Music begins at 7:30 p.m.
Gainesville Mayor Sam Couvillon is hosting the Ugly Sweater DJ night, which kicks off the month of December.
"I'm extremely grateful for the warmth, liveliness, and togetherness of the Gainesville community, all year round but especially during the holiday season," Couvillon said. "This is going to be a great kickoff event and I'm excited to get to come together with constituents on Friday for a fun night out. Thanks to Boot Barn Hall's hospitality team for playing such incredible hosts."
Attendees are invited to grab their best festive sweaters and enter the Ugliest Sweater Contest, which will be voted on by the audience. The winner of the contest will receive free tickets for a year to Boot Barn Hall. The winner of that contest will be announced at 8:30 p.m.
A DJ will be playing a variety of music, including 2000s, 90s, 80s pop, hip hop and rock.
