Lumpkin County's historic run continued on Friday in the Georgia High School Association playoffs as part of six northeast Georgia area teams to advance to the Elite 8 round.
The Indians took a thrilling double overtime win at home against Oconee County in Class 3A.
Buford outlasted Norcross in a 28-25 win in Class 7A. Gainesville took care of business at City Park .with a 35-21 win over Blessed Trinity in Class 6A.
Jefferson used a strong second-half performance from Sammy Brown to knock off Hiram, 42-21, in Class 5A.
In Class A Divison 1, Commerce continued its dominance on the ground en route to a win over Dade County. Rabun County smacked Whitefield Academy for the second time this season to advance.
