Gaining the Edge: Oliver leads Branch past Clarke Central

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Flowery Branch's air attack was unstoppable last week in the 41-38 come-from-behind win over Clarke Central.

And even though senior quarterback Josh Oliver connected with his receivers for 468 yards and four touchdowns, his legs ultimately pushed the Falcons to the big Region 8-5A win. Oliver scampered in from 10 yards out with 1:20 remaining to give the Falcons the lead and the eventual win. He totaled two rushing touchdowns on the night.

"Josh is our leader," Branch coach Jason Tester said. "He made a couple of mistakes tonight and threw a couple of picks but didn't hang his head. When we needed him, he did exactly what we expected him to do."

Oliver tossed 10 passes to Jeremiah Ware for 209 yards and two scores, and Seth Larson hauled in 166 yards on 18 passes and two touchdowns.
