The North Georgia Community Foundation recently awarded 242 scholarships worth over $500,000.
The total value of the scholarships was $502,825, and they went to high school seniors, current college students and non-traditional students.
The 2022 scholarship cycle offered award opportunities from 66 scholarship funds, many of which awarded more than one scholarship. Each scholarship opportunity had specific eligibility criteria. This year, over 100 community advocates volunteered their time to assist with anonymously reviewing scholarship applications.
“We are honored to work with people who desire to help students pursue their educational journey by providing these scholarship opportunities,” Megan Martin, VP of Marketing & Development at NGCF said. “There is a critical need in the field of education. In 2021, NGCF distributed $16.5 million in grants to support a diverse range of areas; nearly half of these total grants were in support of student scholarships as well as educational institutions or programs.”
