Toccoa police seek information in Wednesday night armed robbery

The owner of King Beverage on Big A Road in Toccoa suffered minor injuries Wednesday night during an armed robbery at the store.

Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize said officers were called to the store at 7:41 p.m., where the owner reported a man had come into the store wearing a motorcycle helmet, black shirt, and black pants.

Mize said the man pulled a gun on the owner and ordered him to give him the money, then a fight ensued.

During that altercation, the owner was struck on the head with the gun.

K9 units from the Georgia State Patrol, Banks County, and Stephens County assisted with the perimeter and search for the man, who is described as a 6-foot-tall white male with medium build.

The suspect was last seen running toward North Avenue.

Some of the money was recovered shortly after the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Capt. Eddie Neal at (706) 282-3244.
