Gillsville man arrested for allegedly stabbing, killing girlfriend

By AccessWDUN Staff

Hall County authorities arrested a Gillsville man Monday evening for the murder of a woman who was found dead that morning at a home in the city.

B.J. Williams, public information officer with the Hall County Sheriff's Office, said Rashon Otis Bacon, 45, is charged with felony murder in the death of Alexis Davis Roberson, 26.  A mutual acquaintance found Roberson's body at about 10:30 a.m. inside the home in the 3300 block of McDougal road.

Roberson had reportedly been stabbed multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was sent to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy.

Williams said Bacon and Roberson were dating and had recently moved to the area.

Investigators identified Bacon as a person of interest, but he was not at the home when deputies arrived at the scene. Bacon returned to the home Monday afternoon while investigators were working the crime scene. He was taken into custody for questioning and charged with felony murder Monday evening.

Investigators have not determined a motive.

Bacon remained in the Hall County Jail without bond as of Tuesday morning.
