Five people suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle wreck involving an overturned vehicle Saturday afternoon on Ga. 365 near Alto.
The collision occurred just after 3:45 p.m. on Ga. 365 northbound at Mt. Zion Road, according to Georgia State Patrol Post 7 Toccoa.
A white Nissan Altima driven by 25-year-old Anistacia Coramae Dimock of North Windham, Connecticut was traveling west on Mt. Zion Road and failed to yield while attempting to cross Ga. 365, according to GSP. A northbound Toyota RAV 4 driven by 53-year-old Douglas Almond of Cumming was in the right lane and struck the front of the Nissan.
After impact, the Toyota SUV overturned and came to rest on its roof in the median facing west.
Dimock complained of back pain and leg pain, while Almond experienced upper torso pain. Both drivers were transported by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, as were three passengers in the SUV: Eddie Almond, Rodney Turpin, and Mickey Grindle.
Northbound traffic on Ga. 365 was detoured onto Ballew Road while the wreck was cleared.
