One person died as a result of a mobile home fire Thursday morning in Gainesville.

According to a press release from Hall County Fire Rescue, units responded at about 5:48 a.m. to the single-wide mobile home in the 4700 block of East Hall Road.

The mobile home was fully involved when crews arrived. Crews had also received a report that the resident of the home was still inside. Flames and black smoke were visible from all four sides of the home.

"Firefighters made a defensive attack on the fire until enough of the flames could be extinguished before the initial search for the resident could be made," the release said.

Crews were able to enter the home and found the person dead toward the back of the home.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Hall County Fire Marshal's Office, and the victim's cause of death is being investigated by the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

The victim's name had not been released as of Thursday morning.
