While gas prices are still well over $4.00 per gallon, they are trending downwards.
The lastest AAA report shows the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded in Georgia is $4.31 as of early Monday morning, down nine cents from the previous week. It's still almost a dollar and a half higher than July of 2021.
The national average is $4.80 per gallon, with Georgia having significantly lower prices. Much of that difference is due to the suspension of the state gas tax, which Governor Brian Kemp recently announced will be extended into August.
The national average has dropped by 10 cents from a week ago.
Locally, Hall County prices are five cents below the state average at $4.27 per gallon.
The cheapest prices in Georgia are in Telfair County at just $3.90 per gallon. The most expensive are in Calhoun County at $4.63 per gallon.
