Fourth of July celebrations return to North Georgia for 2022

Communities across North Georgia will celebrate the Fourth of July holiday this year with fireworks, parades and various other celebrations.

You can celebrate our nation's independence by finding an event near you from the list below.

Monday, July 4

3rd Annual Community July Fourth Celebration
Chicopee Baptist Church, Gainesville
6:00 p.m.: Village Parade
6:30 p.m.: Food, games and music
9:00 p.m.: Fireworks
Chicopee Baptist Church invites the public to celebrate independence day with friends and family. Free food will be provided by Cornerstone of Faith. 

Celebrate Braselton July Fourth Festival & Fireworks
Braselton Town Green
5:00 p.m. 
Braselton's annual Fourth of July celebration returns to the town green with a patriotic parade, festival and fireworks. Fireworks begin at dark, between 9 and 9:30 p.m.

Dahlonega Independence Day
Dahlonega Square
8 a.m.: Firecracker 5K
11 a.m.: Patriotic Parade
2 and 4:30 p.m.: Free concerts
Dusk: Fireworks show at the University of North Georgia
Fourth of July celebrations return to the Dahlonega Square with a full day of events, starting with the Firecracker 5K at 8 a.m., and ending with a fireworks show at UNG at dusk. Food trucks will also be available in the area from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Demorest Glorious Fourth of July Celebration
Demorest, from Florida Street to Rhode Island Street
Participants line up at 3 p.m., the parade begins at 4 p.m.
The annual Fourth of July parade will focus on children this year as it travels from Florida Street to Rhode Island Street. Children were encouraged to participate by decorating their bikes, wagons, soapbox cars and other items! Food, crafts, activities, music and fireworks will follow. Freedom Fest: Fourth of July Celebration - The Edge Church, Gainesville
The Edge Church, 4115 Price Road
6 p.m.
The Edge Church is inviting the public to its annual Freedom Fest. The festivities get underway at 6 p.m. and continue until dark. The event features food, a bounce house, an obstacle course, giveaways, live music and fireworks.

Helen Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks
Near the Alpine Village Shoppes and Helen Welcome Center
Fireworks between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
The annual Fourth of July celebration returns to Helen with fireworks in the alpine city.

July Fourth Annual Celebration
Cumming Fairgrounds
4 to 10 p.m., fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.
Following the Thomas-Mashburn Steam Engine Parade earlier in the day, guests can attend the annual July 4th Celebration at the Cumming Fairgrounds. The celebration features music, alcohol, food and vendors.

Red, White & Blairsville - Fourth of July Fireworks
Meeks Park
7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The Blairsville-Union County Chamber of Commerce, City of Blairsville and Union County Government are hosting an event for all ages at Meeks Park to celebrate the nation's independence. Guests can enjoy bound houses, face painting, food, fireworks and more!

Thomas-Mashburn Steam Engine Parade
Starts at Forsyth Central High School and ends at the Cumming Fairgrounds 
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Guests line the streets to celebrate Independence Day with the Thomas-Mashburn Steam Engine Parade, a staple in the City of Cumming. Attendees will see floats with local businesses, sports teams, dance academies, antique cars, tractors, steam engines and much more.

Saturday, June 25

2022 Freedom Festival in Jefferson

Jefferson
4 to 10 p.m.
The City of Jefferson is kicking off independence day early with the 2022 Freedom Festival. A wrestling match will be held at 4 p.m., the Back in Time band will play from 6 p.m. to dusk. Fireworks start at dark.

Freedom Fest - Leisure Acres Campground
Leisure Acres Campground, Cleveland
5 p.m. until dark
The 17th annual Freedom Fest is open to the public and features the "Largest firework display in Northeast Georgia," according to the description from Leisure Acres Campground. Guests can enjoy food vendors, music, bounce houses and fireworks.

Hartwell's Pre-4th Celebration
Arts & Crafts Festival in Downtown Hartwell: 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Fireworks at dusk at Longpoint Recreation Area, gates open at 5:30 p.m.
Hartwell is holding a full day's worth of events for its Pre-4th celebration. It starts with an arts and crafts festival and ends with fireworks at Longpoint Recreation Area.

America the Beautiful Concert

6:00 p.m.
The event will feature a choir and orchestra during a celebration of American music.

Friday, July 1

Independence Day Fireworks Community Event
Stephens County Recreation Department (125 Roselane Dr., Toccoa, GA)
Splash pad extended hours from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Fireworks at 9 p.m.
The event features "fun for all ages!" with Top Dawg Grillers, Kona Ice and various inflatables. Enjoy time at the splash pad leading up to fireworks just after dark.

Summer in the City - Commerce
Commerce
6:00 p.m. Fly Betty Band
9:30 p.m. Fireworks
The City of Commerce is celebrating Independence Day with its Summer in the City event, beginning at 10 a.m. with a showing of Jaws at the Commerce Cultural Center. Guests can also grab a free drink downtown (soft drink or tea only), and listen to live music from the Fly Betty Band at 6 p.m. Finally, finish up the night with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.!


Saturday, July 2

Independence Day Fireworks Show - Lake Burton
The south end of Billy Goat Island on Lake Burton
9:30 p.m.
Enjoy an extravagant fireworks show by boat at the annual Lake Burton fireworks show. The only way to observe the fireworks show is by boat, or on one of the private boathouses within viewing distance.

Lake Nottely Boat Parade
Lake Nottely Marina
12:00 p.m.
The annual Lake Nottelly Boat Parade returns to Northeast Georgia! Boaters can decorate their boats and join in on the phone. Awards are also given out to those with the most creative boats.

Laurel Park Independence Day Celebration - Hall County
Hall County's Laurel Park
9:00 a.m.
The annual celebration kicks off at 9 a.m. with fun activities, food vendors, music and the splash pad. Fireworks begin at dusk.

The City of Pendergrass is kicking off the Fourth of July holiday with food, music, games and fireworks beginning at 5 p.m.

The Arts Council - Northwinds Symphonic Band
The Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center’s Gladys Wyant Performing Arts Pavilion
8 p.m. (Gates open at 7 p.m.)
The Arts Council's annual Patriotic Concert returns with the Northwinds Symphonic Band. Attendees can experience patriotic selections played by a variety of wind, string and percussion instruments with associated vocalists. Tickets are required for the event.
