Fourth of July festivities resume in 2021 following pandemic pause last year

North Georgia will celebrate the birth of our nation on July 4th weekend with fireworks, festivals, and concerts. Take a look at the events list below to find an Independence Day celebration near you.

Saturday, July 3
 
56th Annual American Legion Post 7 Independence Day Celebration
Hall County's Laurel Park
9 a.m.
Festivities begin at 9 a.m. DJ and music, kid's activities, arts and crafts, food and drink, and a car show ahead of the fireworks at dusk. Entry fee is $10 per car.
 
Thomas-Mashburn Steam Engine Parade
Starting at Forsyth Central High School and ending at the Cumming Fairgrounds
Begins at 10 a.m.
Mashburn Steam Engine Parade is an annual July 4th tradition in the City of Cumming. Thousands of people line the streets to celebrate Independence Day. With a wide variety of floats, you’ll see local businesses, sports teams, dance academies, antique cars, tractors, steam engines and much more! The parade route travels south on Tribble Gap Road.

Cumming Fairgrounds
Cumming Fairgrounds will host a fun-filled evening from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. with a spectacular fireworks display to begin at 9:30 p.m. The celebration includes music, alcohol, food, games, vendors and various contests throughout the day. Free admission and parking.
 
Celebrate Braselton 4th of July Festival Concert
Downtown Braselton
7 p.m.
The North Georgia Winds band will present a free patriotic concert on the Town Green on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. Attendees encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets.

The Arts Council - Northwinds Symphonic Band
Gladys Wyant Performing Arts Pavilion at the Arts Council Depot
8 p.m., rain or shine
The Arts Council celebrates Independence Day with their Summer 2021 MusicFest: Music Under the Stars series featuring the Northwinds Symphonic Band. Bring your own picnics and chairs or purchase a table of 8. Tap It will have adult beverages and charcuterie boards for sale. Doors open at 6pm. Adult tickets are $20, Veterans; Veteran Families and Students $15; Table for 8 is $240.

Celebrate Braselton 4th of July Festival & Fireworks
Downtown Braselton
Begins at 10 a.m., fireworks at dark
A daylong celebration begins with an outdoor artisan market at Countryside Antiques on Frances Street at 10 a.m. followed by a free concert, parade and fireworks show.  Food trucks will arrive at 5 p.m. with the parade starting at 6 p.m. GlowBand will perform after the parade until the fireworks begin at dark.

Iron Mountain 4th of July Celebration & Fireworks
Iron Mountain in Dahlonega
Bounce houses, food trucks, live music featuring Buford resident and Nashville artist, Seth Michael. Gates open at 5 p.m.
Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.
$20 per vehicle in advance, $25 at the gate
 
Helen Fireworks
Downtown Helen
Fireworks begin at dusk (between 9 and 9:30 p.m.) behind the Alpine Village Shoppes and Helen Welcome Center. 
Free of charge.
 
Friday, July 9
 
Red, White & Boom Extravaganza - Gwinnett Stripers
Coolray Field
Game at 7:05 p.m., fireworks to follow
The Stripers play away on Independence Day this year, so extend the celebration to Friday. Come see the Gwinnett Stripers play the Nashville Sounds at home and stay for the annual fireworks display to celebrate the Fourth of July.
