Crews respond to reported lightning-sparked house fire in Lawrenceville

Fire left a home in unincorporated Lawrenceville uninhabitable, Gwinnett County Fire officials report.

The fire in the 700 block of Paris Drive, was reported at 8:01 p.m., with the caller reporting lightning had struck the house snd smoke was visible from the roof.

Firefighters arrived to find a working attic fire and worked quickly to deploy two fire attack hose lines to contain the fire, officials report. Crews also placed an emphasis on protecting furniture and other personal belongings by using salvage covers to provide protection from water damage.

No injuries were reported, and the occupants declined American Red Cross assistance.
