LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 6,
GEORGE WALTON 1

The Lady Lions scored the final five goals in taking a win in the first round of the Class A Private playoffs.

Millie Filson had five goals with sister McKenna Filson dishing out four assists on the night.

It was a tight affair most of the first half before Millie Filson got her first goal off a great cross from Lauren Scott. Millie Filson exploded 10 minutes later collecting a loose ball above the box and dribbled the length of the field, beating four defenders and then planting a blast to the back of the net from 8 yards out.

George Walton pulled within 2-1 on a corner kick late in the half but with just two minutes before halftime, Millie Filson scored again on another header from a corner kick by sister McKenna Filson.

Lakeview came out strong in the second half as Annie Nivens scored once and Millie Filson scored twice more, all coming from assists by McKenna Filson.

The Lakeview defense did the rest as Virginia Cobb, Lauren Scott, and Claire Morgan held off the George Walton attack.

Keeper Celia Wilson-Patino had 7 saves in goal for Lakeview.

The Lady Lions next will take on the Heritage-Newnan/Paideia winner in the second round.
