A suspect is on the loose after he allegedly led Georgia State Troopers on a high-speed chase in Stephens County near Toccoa on Sunday morning.

A press release from the Georgia State Patrol said a trooper from GSP Post 7 attempted to pull over a white Honda Accord at about 7:30 a.m. after it was seen driving at a high speed on Ga. 365 southbound in Stephens County.

The driver of the Honda fled once the trooper activated his emergency lights, allegedly reaching speeds of 114 miles per hour while on Ga. 365. The driver of the Honda turned left onto Ga. 145, heading toward Toccoa.

The Honda, which troopers say had been reported stolen by the owner, ran multiple cars off the roadway before brake checking the trooper. The trooper was able to get to the side of the Honda following the brake check. The Honda struck the trooper's Dodge Charger patrol car on the front corner of the driver's side.

The chase continued after the Honda turned right onto Collier Road, reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour. The Honda reportedly attempted to brake check the trooper a second time after turning left onto Hilltop Way. The trooper was unable to stop, hitting the rear bumper of the Honda twice.

The trooper attempted a PIT maneuver at Skyview Lane and Alley Street, causing the Honda to spin out onto Alley Street. The Honda was able to continue fleeing down Alley Street, where they turned onto Davis Street and eventually ran a stop sign at Ponds Street. The Honda then left the roadway and struck a curb, causing the driver to get out and flee on foot.

The Honda was left in drive after the driver fled on foot, causing it to roll into the trooper's vehicle. The driver, identified only as a black male, fled the scene on foot and has not been apprehended.

The trooper was uninjured.

A loaded AK-47 and various drugs were allegedly found in the Honda.

The case remained open and under investigation at last report.
