Girls soccer: Bluff routs GHS; Lakeview opens with road win

FLOWERY BRANCH — Amelia Dovie recorded a hat trick and Genesis Gamez had three assists to lead Cherokee Bluff to an 8-0 shutout win over Gainesville on Tuesday at home.

It was the first win of the season for the Class 3A seventh-ranked Lady Bears (1-2-1). Gainesville dropped to 0-3-1 with the loss.

Anna Gessner, Ellie Sutulovich, Tyndall Brix, Paige Wheat, and Abigail Foster all scored one goal for Bluff.

Gainesville will play host to Class 4A No. 7 Chestatee on Friday.

The Lady Bears will travel to Johnson on Friday.


LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 9,
NORTH HALL 2

The Lady Lions opened their season with an impressive road win on Tuesday.

Millie Filson scored  in the opening minutes to give Lakeview a quick lead ut North Hall's Brooklyn Green scored the equalizer just minutes later. From there, it was all Lakeview.

Filson would record a hat trick in the first half and finished with four goals on the night as Lakeview (1-0) scored eight consecutive goals deep into the second half to blow the game open. The Lady Lions led 5-1 at halftime.

Gracen Wood scored the Lady Trojans’ second goal late in the second half. In between, Annie Nivens, Sara Nivens, McKenna Filson (twice), and Ella Grace Leek all scored for Lakeview. McKenna Filson, Annie Nivens, Millie Filson, and Lauren Scott each had assists for the Lady Lions.

Celia Wilson-Patino notched 5 saves in goal for Lakeview.
