A family was displaced from their home following an accidental structure fire Monday afternoon in Commerce.
According to a press release from Banks County Fire and Emergency Services, the department responded to 521 Hebron, Rd, Commerce at 1:20 p.m. and found that the home was emitting heavy smoke and flames. All occupants were already out of the house.
Responders were able to contain the fire to the room of origin, however, the home reportedly is damaged from smoke.
Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of a small space heater being too close to combustibles as the cause of the incident.
The department says that the Bold Springs Fire Department from Franklin County assisted with putting out the fire.
No injuries have been reported and the fire was terminated by around 5 p.m.
