Flowery Branch man arrested on child pornography charges

The Hall County Sheriff's Office arrested a Flowery Branch man Wednesday morning as part of a child pornography investigation.

According to a press release from the agency, Markus Tyler Skelton Stevens, 25, was charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, one each for possession and distribution of the pornography.

An initial investigation found Stevens allegedly committed the crimes on Sept. 19 at his home in the 7000 block of Spout Springs Road. He is accused of uploading at least one video of child sexual abuse material to his Snapchat account. Investigators do not believe the video depicted a local victim.

Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff's Office and Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began the inquiry on Monday, after receiving a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. He was arrested at his home two days later during the execution of a search warrant.

The case remained under investigation as of Thursday morning. Additional charges are possible pending forensic processing of electronic devices seized from the home.
