A fire early Tuesday resulted in one person’s death in Dawson County.
Firefighters were called to the fire in a single-family home with a possible person trapped on Kelly Bridge Road about 1:30 a.m.
When fire crews arrived, they found the single-story home fully involved by fire.
Due to heavy fire involvement, response time due to the remote location, lack of hydrants in the area, and the integrity of the structure being compromised, crews were unable to battle the fire from inside, said Dawson County Clerk Kristen Cloud.
After the fire was extinguished, firefighters recovered the body of one individual.
The victim has not been identified and the fire is currently under investigation.
State fire investigators are assisting.
