A Cleveland man remains jailed without bond, charged with malice murder and felony murder in the death of his wife.

White County Sheriff Rick Kelley said Emilio Catroppa, 58, had been charged by investigators with aggravated assault following an Oct. 23 incident in which Catroppa allegedly ran over his 58-year-old wife.

That incident happened at 52 Shadow Creek Point, Cleveland, where deputies were responding for a domestic dispute in progress.

The victim, whose name Kelley did not release, was taken by White County ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with serious injuries.

After the victim died Tuesday, Nov. 1, investigators upgraded charges from aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act to malice murder FVA and felony murder FVA.
