Hall County officials say repairs are underway on a portion of Claude Parks Road near Murrayville that was washed out in September.
In a release Thursday, officials said the portion of the road near the intersection of Jake Kemp Road is expected to be open some time in December if repairs stay on schedule.
Hall County Public Works and Utilities Director Srikanth Yamala said the project will include adding a concrete culvert to the roadway. The road previously had a metal culvert, which a 2015 county resolution now requires to be made of concrete or high-density polyethylene.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience with this project, as the outcome will be longer lasting and safer roads for all of our residents and visitors,” Yamala said.
Officials said residents in the area should continue to use detours on Jake Kemp Road and Wade Whelchel Road until the repairs are complete. Detour signs have been placed in the area and a map of the detour route can be found on the county's website.
