Lake Lanier will be the venue for the Marine Trade Association of Metro Atlanta's first in-water boat show.
The Lake Lanier Boat Show will run from Friday, Oct. 14 through Sunday, Oct. 16 on the docks of Margaritaville at Lanier Islands.
The show was traditionally held in Downtown Atlanta. The President of the Marine Trade Association of Metro Atlanta, Tabor Reins, said the move to Lake Lanier was due to a number of reasons.
“The cost of the show was very expensive for dealers to participate. For instance, for me to bring 20 boats down, with labor costs and floorplan costs, it was close to $60,000,” Reins said.
Safety concerns in the Atlanta downtown area and the type of attendees the show brings in were other reasons for the move to Lake Lanier.
“Also for attendees, most people who do attend the Atlanta Boat Show are in the Lake Lanier area so we thought we'd better bring the show closer to them,” Reins said.
The three-day event will bring together more than 15 area dealers and over 50 brands to provide a first look at new 2023 boat models. Over 200 boats will be on display. The event will also have live music, food trucks, dock builders and lake life vendors.
The hours for the Lake Lanier Boat Show are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The musical lineup will feature 2021 Georgia Country Awards Teen Artist of the Year – Leah Belle Faser on Saturday and high energy Country and Rock musicians – Owl Creek Band on Sunday.
