A Gillsville man wanted for shooting and injuring a man Thursday night remains on the run, and authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for him.
Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman Derreck Booth said detectives obtained warrants for Emilio Daniel Moran, 23, on two counts of aggravated assault.
"Deputies responded to the shooting call at approximately 8:30 p.m. outside of a home in the 2000 block of Microwave Tower Road, off of U.S. 129 South/Athens Hwy," Booth said in an email statement.
"According to the preliminary investigation, Moran was dropped off at the residence to retrieve some of his belongings from a previous relationship," Booth said. "He argued with individuals outside of the home prior to firing a handgun."
One person suffered a gunshot wound to the hip during the altercation. Booth said several adults and children were present at the time, but no one else was hurt. Moran ran from the scene after the shooting.
"Deputies, including a K9 unit, flooded the area searching for Moran but did not find him," Booth said.
Detectives said Moran is 5-feet-8 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and tattoos below and beside each of his eyes.
Moran is considered armed and dangerous. Members of the community should not approach him but call 911 if they spot him. Anyone who knows where he might be can call the investigators at 770-533-7813. Booth said detectives expect to file additional charges against Moran.
