1 killed in dump truck, car accident in Braselton

One person was killed in a collision between a car and a dump truck early Monday morning in Braselton.

The Georgia State Patrol said in a release that a Nissan Sentra was attempting to turn left from State Route 53 North onto Braselton Parkway, when it collided with the southbound dump truck, which was carrying asphalt, around 2:30 a.m.

The driver of the Nissan Sentra. Raven Brown, 27, of Lawrenceville, was killed. Troopers said she was not wearing a seatbelt and died on impact.

The dump truck overturned during the accident. The driver, Vernal Bailey, 55, of Snellville, was injured but declined transport to the hospital. 

No charges are expected.
