The quarterfinal round of the Georgia High School Association soccer playoffs gets under way on Tuesday around the state.
The northeast Georgia area has eight teams still remaining, powered by the Buford girls in Class 6A, the Johnson boys in in Class 5A, and three Region 8-4A boys teams -- East Hall, Jefferson and Flowery Branch -- in Class 4A..
The North Hall girls in Class 3A and Town County girls in Class A Public get things started with a pair long road trips on Tuesday. The Lady Trojans travel to Pike County while the Lady Indians head to Screven County.
The North Hall girls game was cancelled at 1:15 p.m. while the team was on the way to Pike County. Coach Alex Wright said they will push the game back to Wednsday at the same time.
The Towns County girls managed to get in their quarterfinal matchup with Screven County on the road and came away with a 2-0 victory to advance to the semifinals.
The rest of the action will take place on Wednesday with the Buford girls, the Johnson boys, and the Towns County boys in Class A Public all playing host in the quarterfinals.
