CLEVELAND – The White County Sheriffs Office SWAT team was called to a Cleveland residence Tuesday night following a report of aggravated assault that left one person injured, according to a press release from Cleveland Police Chief Jeff Shoemaker.
On Tuesday at approximately 11:49 p.m., City of Cleveland Police Officers responded to a 911 call regarding a physical assault at 50 White Street in Cleveland.
Upon arrival, officers located a female victim that had sustained injuries from a domestic dispute and was taken for medical treatment. The aggressor, identified as Nicholas Ryan Stills, also of Cleveland, was located inside a nearby apartment and made threats of violence and the use of weapons towards officers on the scene and refused to cooperate.
The release stated, considering the dangerous potential for the incident the White County Sheriffs Office SWAT team was requested, however negotiations with Stills were unsuccessful, and Stills was arrested around 4:30 AM Wednesday inside the apartment without further incident by the SWAT team.
Arrest warrants were obtained by the Cleveland Police Department for aggravated assault, false imprisonment, terroristic threats and acts, battery, Obstruction on law enforcement officer(s), as well as disorderly conduct, and public indecency.
The Cleveland Police Department and the White County Sheriff’s Office coordinated their efforts during the incident which led to a peaceful resolution, and the case remains under investigation.
