By Dean Dyer, WRWH

A 69-year-old Cleveland man was killed in a single-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon on Highway 75 in White County.

Corporal B.D. Taylor with Georgia State Patrol Post 6 in Gainesville said William Scott Bentley of Cleveland was driving a 2005 GMC Sierra truck southbound on Highway 75 approximately one-half mile north of State Route 384 (Duncan Bridge Road).

Taylor said the vehicle traveled off the east shoulder, leaving the roadway and striking a tree.

Taylor advised that alcohol and/or drugs is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
