CLEVELAND — The North Hall tennis teams both got big Region 7-3A wins over White County on Thursday on the road.
The Lady Trojans took a tough 3-2 victory while the boys finished with a 4-1 win.
In the girls match, Gabbie Jenkins got a win at No. 1 singles and then the No. 2 doubles team of Riley Morgan and Kayla Miller put the match even for North Hall. The Lady Trojans got the clincher from Ali Moore at No. 3 singles. The North Hall girls moved to a perfect 2-0 in region play.
In the boys match, North Hall got wins from Clay Martin and Nate Marshall at the top two singles. The Trojans then swept the doubles to seal the win as the teams of Stephen Sartain and Luis Delgado at No. 1 and Jaycob Wagner and Austin Wallhausen got wins.
The North Hall also moved to 2-0 in region play with the victory.
North Hall will play host to Lakeview Academy on Monday
JOHNSON SWEEPS APALACHEE IN 8-5A
The Johnson tennis teams took a pair of 5-0 wins on Thursday in Region 8-5A action.
The girls dropped just four games in getting the win. Olivia Carpenter won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles while Zoey Blankenship won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. The No. 3 singles was a forfeit while both doubles teams also took 6-0, 6-0 wins.
The boys lost just seven games. Adrian Blankenship won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and Allan Garcia took 6-2, 6-0 victory. Leandro Cupps got a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles and the No. 1 doubles team of Sebastian Perez and Levi McBride took a 6-1, 6-1 win. The No. 2 doubles was a forfeit.
