Girls soccer roundup: Bluff, Lakeview take big wins

FLOWERY BRANCH — Cherokee Bluff continued its strong run of late blanking East Hall 8-0 on Tuesday at Bears Stadium.

It was the fourth consecutive shutout victory for the Lady Bears (4-2), who are now ranked eighth in Class 3A.

Kaitlyn Cook recorded a hat trick and added an assist for Cherokee Bluff. Amelia Dovie added a brace and an assist while Alyssa Stringer, Carson Demars, and Alexandria Janke each had one goal for the Lady Bears. Haley Wilton contributed with two assists and Stringer, Anna Gressner, and Ellie Sutulovich all had one assist on the night.

Cherokee Bluff will open Region 7-3A play on Friday at home against Gilmer.

East Hall (2-4) will play host Stephens County on Thursday.


LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 10,
CHESTATEE 0

The Lady Lions (3-2) won their third straight match. 

Millie Filson had another huge offensive game pouring in five goals to lead Lakeview. McKenna Filson scored twice and Lauren Scott, Pavani Reddy, and Hannah Perkins each scored one goal for the Lady Lions.

The Filson sisters have driven an explosive offense of late as Lakeview has outscored the opposition 24-5 during their win streak.

After allowing 19 goals in their first two matches, the Lady Lions defense has picked things up. Chestatee managed just five shots and keeper Celia Wilson-Patino recorded the shutout in goal.

Chestatee (1-4-1) has struggled since an opening win over Dawson County going 0-4-1 in its last five matches and being outscored 27-0 in that span.

Lakeview next will travel to East Hall on Friday.

Chestatee will play host to Southeast Whitfield on Friday.
