Drivers should avoid the area of Riverside and Morningside Drive, if possible.

Downed trees and power lines can be spotted across the roadway, according to Gainesville Fire Department spokesperson Keith Smith.

Smith said that Georgia Power is en route to resolve the issue. It is unknown at this time if or how the damage effected power to the local area.
