A Stephens County wreck seriously injured the driver and resulted in charges late Wednesday night.
The wreck happened about 10:45 p.m. on North Red Hollow Road near Newman Collins Road in Martin and involved a 1994 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck driven by Jason Bryan Elliott, 37, of Eastanollee, according to Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa.
Elliott’s truck was traveling south on North Red Hollow Road and, after negotiating a left curve too fast, the driver failed to maintain lane and traveling off the west shoulder, striking a ditch.
After striking the ditch, Elliott’s truck began to overturn and ejected him.
Elliott suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment.
GSP charged Elliott with driving under the influence, too fast for conditions, and failure to maintain lane, according to GSP.
