Habersham EMC has its first female board member

Vonda Greene has been appointed to the Habersham EMC Board of Directors and becomes the first woman to serve on the board.
 
A Habersham County native, Greene grew up on her family’s poultry and cattle farm in the New Liberty area. She has 22 years of banking experience and is currently the Compliance Officer/BSA Officer/Internal Auditor at Southern Bank & Trust.
 
She has previously served on the Habersham EMC Member Advisory Board, the Nominating Committee and the Credentials and Election Committee. Her community involvement includes the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce, American Cancer Society and the March of Dimes. Greene is a member of Christwalk Church in Cornelia.
 
“I feel that I have a skill set that can be used for the greater good of the co-op. Our growing communities that we serve expect excellence from our board. I believe that my experience and community relationships can foster positive vision for the future.”   
 
Greene is the daughter of Horace and Nedra Eller. She lives in Clarkesville with her husband, Robert. Together the couple has five children and two grandchildren.
