The Dawson County Sheriff's Office is reporting a phone scam that's been circulating in the area this week.
A post on the Dawson County Sheriff's Office Facebook page said the office received several calls Monday from residents reporting the suspicious phone calls. The scammer apparently poses as a sheriff's office employee and tries to convince the victim there are warrants for the victim's arrest.
The social media post did not indicate if the phone caller asks for money during the course of the call.
Officials with the Dawson County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who has received such a call to notify them right away at 706-344-3535.
