BUFORD -- Buford had the game in the bag by halftime.
The Wolves (9-1 Region 8-6A No. 1 seed) outscored Douglas County (7-4 Region 5-6A No. 4 seed) 41-0 in the first half to cruise to a 48-0 win in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs at Tom Riden Stadium on Friday.
After going up 10-0 -- a 19-yard Alejandro Matta field goal and a 60-yard strike from Dylan Wittke to Isaiah Bond, the Wolves exploded for 31 second-quarter points to put the game out of reach.
Victor Venn and CJ Clinkscales jump-started the offense with a 35-yard and 15-yard touchdown runs in the first four minutes of the second quarter.
Gabe Ervin Jr scored with 5:40 to on a 5-yard dive, while Ashton Daniels (one-yard run) and Matta (35-yard field goal) all contributed to the scoring column in the second quarter.
Venn added his second score late in the fourth quarter -- a 9-yard run.
Buford will play host to Cambridge, who beat Kell, 36-14, on Friday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
